Cannabis for Warriors

Healing American Heroes

CFW’S MISSION is to end the alarming number of suicides and overdose deaths within the military and first responder veteran community by providing safe and affordable access to medical cannabis and/or CBD as an alternative to dangerous prescription drugs. Over 50 American Heroes are lost every day to suicide and accidental overdose, this is an epidemic we must end!

CFW’S VISION is a world where our nations warriors can lessen their mental and physical pain through alternative treatments that afford them the freedom to live healthy, happy, and productive lives.

CFW’S all-volunteer force will accomplish our mission through: advocacy, awareness, and education on a state and federal level; collaborating with like-minded organizations, businesses, and individuals; partnering with physicians, clinics, dispensaries, growers, and CBD distributors that offer CFW Members treatment options at a substantially reduced cost; breaking the stigma and working to end discrimination against cannabis use among employers, health insurers, and the government; and by providing direct assistance programs for severely disabled military and first responder veterans who would otherwise be unable to afford medical cannabis and/or CBD.

Zaak Thibodeaux

Zaak was born and raised in Lake Charles, Louisiana where he currently resides with his wife, Marlena, and 9-year old son. He served in the U.S. Army from 2005-2014 in various positions. His final assignment was with 173rd Airborne Brigade Combat Team as an Infantry Company Senior Medic. Zaak deployed in that capacity to Afghanistan 2012-2013. Due to severe injuries sustained during combat operations, Zaak was medically retired in 2014. During his time in service he received 13 awards and commendations for superior performance and commitment to duty including; 6 Army Achievement Medals, 2 Army Commendation Medals, 2 Military Outstanding Volunteer Service Medals, and upon retirement he was awarded The Meritorious Service Medal. Zaak’s interest in medical cannabis came only after several physically invasive treatments, surgeries, and the being prescribed countless combinations of prescription drugs, all without success. As a former medic, Zaak knew there had to be a better option and began looking into alternative treatments. After extensive research and talking with other veterans who used medical cannabis to treat their symptoms, Zaak decided to try medical cannabis, and in his words “It literally saved my life”. Zaak founded Cannabis for Warriors with one simple vision, to save his fellow brothers and sisters lives with the healing powers of medical cannabis, and that continues to push his work today.
