Joe Stabley is a National Board Certified PA who recently joined OCPAM in 2015. He completed his Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Health Care Science from the University of Colorado in 2011. Joe then went on to earn a Master of Physician Assistant Studies (MPAS) in 2014 through the Interservice Physician Assistant Program which is nationally accredited by the University of Nebraska Medical Center. Joe’s Psychiatric clinical rotations were unique for a PA program because he trained on a military installation with a population of approx. 20,000 soldiers and 50,000 family members. He worked closely with various mental health professionals to render services within the Army Substance Abuse Program (ASAP), the Defense and Veteran’s Brain Injury Center (DVBIC), and several Embedded Behavioral Health Teams. Joe is also actively involved with the Long Beach VA Medical Center working with focus groups to treat veterans who suffer from Combat Stress and PTSD. As a PA, Joe is able to specialize in several drastically different medical fields simultaneously. In an unrelenting effort to diversify his medical skills and maintain a passion for patient care, he splits his time practicing in Urgent Care and Trauma Surgery as well. For OCPAM, he is able to perform initial and follow up psychiatric evaluations, provide a diagnosis, treat with medication, and refer for psychotherapy.
