“Rhonda Smith, Founder & CEO, is an Air Force Veteran from PA. Her time in service included assignments in TX, DC, NC and Germany. Rhonda began her military career as a surgical technologist and trained as a trauma nurse. Rhonda spent over 8 years on Active Duty & felt a disconnect after discharge.

After many years of planning & strategizing, Rhonda launched the Skirted Soldier in March 2018 as a way to support and empower female veterans. The Skirted Soldier has has grown to offer tea in 21 states and over 30 locations in PA. The Skirted Soldier donates 10% of annual sales to female veterans & ships out monthly combat care packages. Rhonda and her family live in Blue Knob, PA where they operate a Homegrown by Heroes farmette. Rhonda is an active advisory member for PA Troops to Tractors.

The Skirted Soldier is a female veteran owned operation that specializes in hand blended loose tea. We donate 10% back to female veteran organizations & ship out monthly combat care packages. We source our products in from member owned cooperatives and CSAs- preferably military owned. We offer over 30 organic small batch blends and our tea leaves are sourced in using Fair Trade practices from sustainable farms. We have tea in 21 states and over 30 locations in PA. We are a certified Homegrown by Heroes operation and advisory board members for the PA Troops to Tractors.”
